Human Resources, Senior Consultant (RH2022-019)

Reporting to the Vice-President and COO, the Human Resources, Senior Consultant will be involved in the company’s human resources management activities. In partnership with Management, the individual holding this position will contribute to all HR related initiatives aligned with the company’s strategy.

Tasks and Responsibilities

As the sole member of the human resources department, the Human Resources, Senior Consultant, will hold the following responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development and definition of the company’s HR related vision and operational objectives in order to offer a healthy and motivating work environment.
  • Participate in setting up policies, and creating and maintaining programs and procedures regarding human resources planning, recruitment, training and development, retention, position classification (including pay equity), and compensation and benefits administration.
  • Propose solutions to proactively manage human resources, working relationships, change, and the organizational efficiency and development to support the continuous growth of the company and its innovative business strategies. 
  • Organize HR meetings with Management.
  • Prepare minutes of meetings and documentation to optimize communication and ensure the proper coordination and integration of all staff involved. Create and update files and reports related to the actions to be undertaken.
  • Organize and update centralized files in order to manage any information related to HR files.
  • According to specified frequencies and timeframes, regularly provide reports, ongoing programs updates, and programs financial status and performance to Management.
  • Ensure all the necessary information for each HR program’s good management is captured and managed in order to allow an adequate monitoring of the programs’ performance and quality.
  • Develop policies and programs or strategies; recommend, implement and manage different management tools to support growth and business goals related to:
    • Talent acquisition
    • Onboarding Plan including follow-ups along the new employee's trial period
    • Training and Development
    • Performance Management
    • Compensation and benefits (salary ranges, vacations, leaves, group registered retirement savings).
  • Manage maternity, paternity, parental, and disability leaves, and working relationships.
  • Organize and set up social activities within the company.
  • Stay up-to-date with the best HR practices and create innovative HR solutions for talent acquisition and retention.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Human Resources or Industrial Relations
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience as a human resources coordinator/advisor. Experience within a contractual research organization and any relevant experience in recruitment will be considered as assets.
  • Experience with structured processes based on rigorous documentation, the importance of meeting deadlines and attention to details.
  • Bilingual, excellent verbal and written skills both in French and English.
  • Excellent knowledge and strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), data from payroll systems, talent acquisition tools and processes including social media.

  • Ability to work in close collaboration and building trust-based relationships with the staff, managers and management.
  • Demonstrate judgement and rigor in the performance of his duties.
  • Sense of discretion.
  • Ability and willingness to complete administrative tasks, even those that can be of routine nature.
  • Organization, monitoring and coordination skills
  • Dynamism and ability to work independently
  • Flexibility to work simultaneously on different tasks and to identify priorities.
  • Learning agility and open to take on additional responsibilities.
     

Professional Affiliation

  • CHRP or CIRC title is an asset.
