Project Manager, Research and Development (RH2021-022)


Under the supervision of the Director, Research and Development Unit, the Project Manager, Research and Development is responsible to develop, conceptualize and manage all research activities aimed at reaching the defined objectives for the projects under his or her responsibility.   



As a qualified member of the Research and Development team, your main responsibilities are to: 

  • Understand the objectives of each project under your responsibility.
  • Based on the assigned mandates, analyze, define and implement a strategy to achieve the objectives of each project.
  • Coordinate the different steps and activities of the research projects assigned in collaboration with other team members, including assignment of activities to the different units while ensuring an effective follow-up process.
  • Provide support in experience design and problem solving for methods in development as well as scientific and technical support for the R&D team.
  • Interact with internal and external clients regarding management and evaluation of scientific projects.
  • Provide scientific and technical leadership for the management and evaluation of scientific projects.
  • Plan material and human resources, develop the work plan, tools, methods and budgets that will allow you and the resources involved in the project to follow the progress of the activities and the anticipated results.
  • Coordinate and produce various analyzes or laboratory research work for the R&D Unit.
  • Collaborate with R&D staff to write or revise the SOPs to ensure that all processes are described within written procedures.
  • Prepare, edit and analyze protocols and reports throughout the project and ensure their compliance to the company’s quality standards (GLP).
  • Coordinate meetings and activities related to the research projects under your responsibility. Prepare memos and related documentation in order to optimize communication and ensure the coordination and integration of all resources involved. Create and keep up-to-date records, reports and files related to the projects and follow-ups with the clients.
  • Answer clients’ questions and information requests or properly redirect these requests within the company.
  • Support in the preparation of client’s proposals.



  • Ph. D. degree in Immunology, Virology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry or other related fields.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in research project management within the bio-pharmaceutical industry or in a contract research organization (CRO).
  • Proven experience coordinating research projects in immunology, virology which required the use of the following techniques: flow cytometry, RT-PCR, ELISA, and cell culture, etc.  Experience in vaccine projects is an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of the GLP (Good Laboratory Practices).
  • Good knowledge of French and English both spoken and written.
  • In-depth knowledge and strong skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
